What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a conservative health care approach which aims to restore the proper functional movement of the joints and muscles in the body through the use of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue mobilization and physiotherapy modalities.

Chiropractors are primary care professionals for spinal health and well-being.

What to expect

Initial appointment:

When Dr. Snow arrives for your first appointment, you will be greeted with a smile and she will set up her equipment in the comfort of your home. Dr. Snow will review your new patient intake paperwork and any initial health complaints you may have.  She will then perform a physical evaluation of the health complaint based on Dr. Snow's clinical judgement from the information you provide.  This examination will include a spinal and postural examination; it may also include referral for x-rays, laboratory analysis and other diagnostic procedures as necessary.  You can expect the initial appointment to last about 45 minutes.

Second Appointment:

Dr. Snow will provide you a thorough report of findings based upon your initial examination and answer any questions you may have about the diagnosis and treatment process.  Dr. Snow will recommend a treatment plan for your specific condition and will inform you if other types of providers need to be involved in your care.

Treatment:

After your questions are answered, you can choose to experience your first treatment.  This may include exercises, stretches, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, Rocktape application and/or chiropractic adjustment.  Each treatment will usually last 15-30 minutes depending on the depth of care your condition needs.

Re-examination:

A re-examination of your health complaint will be completed after 4-6 visits or prior to dismissal from care to assess the level of improvement in your condition.
